Jaren Pope joined the faculty in the fall of 2006.  His primary research area is in environmental, public and urban economics.  Jaren’s current work focuses on identifying the role of imperfect information in markets where decision making is complex.  Examples of his research include: (i) using quasi-random experimental methods to estimate the impact of imperfect information about environmental disamenities on housing prices, and (ii) analyzing how college sports success influences where high school students choose to go to college.

His outside interests include playing basketball, reading, and spending time with his wife and three daughters.
